WHO WE ARE
We are a non-partisan, queer-led, multi-faith group of leaders in the media and entertainment industries who possess expertise in modern cultural and business practices. Our impact driven strategy mobilizes our expertise in storytelling and culture through a broad network of taste-makers, provocateurs, thought-leaders, and industry experts. Our intersectional and inclusive approach reflects our dedication to achieving freedom of expression and equity for women and all marginalized groups in Iran.

Iranian Diaspora Collective (501(c)(3) pending) is an organization of visionary agents for social change who understand the power of social influence, storytelling, and youth-led activism as key tools for cultural revolution. We formed in response to the mass protests in Iran and around the world following the murder of Jina “Mahsa” Amini by the Iranian “morality police” in September 2022.
As members of the diaspora, we see our role as listening to and amplifying the voices of people inside Iran who want an end to this dictatorial regime and the establishment of a secular, democratic system of governance that respects women’s rights as human rights, freedom of movement and expression, and protects the environment and Iran’s resources.
We are inspired by the vision of a future Iran, as articulated through art, culture, and storytelling through social media by the people who are leading this revolution in Iran, most notably: Gen-Z youth, women and girls, ethnic minorities, students, artists, workers and journalists. We see this movement as intersectional across multiple aspects of life - labor, economy, climate, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, animal rights, and more.
We acknowledge the work of Kurdish leaders and feminists who originated the “Woman, Life, Freedom” (“Jin, Jiyan, Azadî,”) movement over 44 years ago, and recognize that the protests in Iran are a result of decades of labor and perseverance from human rights activists across all areas of Iran.

To use culture, narrative, and storytelling as tools of resistance to disrupt the status quo, liberate Iran, and reclaim Iranian culture. We aim to challenge dominant narratives, tell our stories, and promote the diversity and richness of our heritage. Our goal is to create a future for Iranian culture where our people are empowered to create a society that is just, equitable, and inclusive for all.

Our mission is to create spaces and opportunities for Iranians in the diaspora to connect, collaborate, and build collective power. We aim to foster a sense of belonging and pride in our shared identity, while also recognizing and honoring the diversity of our experiences.
We are committed to amplifying the voices of those who are most marginalized within our community, and to using our platform to advocate for social and political change both within Iran and in the wider world. We are committed to promoting Iranian democracy through a deep understanding and appreciation of our history, culture, and heritage
Through cultural events, storytelling, educational programs, and political advocacy, we seek to inspire and mobilize our community towards a vision of liberation and justice. We believe that by working together, we can transform our collective future and create a world that honors and uplifts the rich cultural heritage of Iran.
